Keep Cyclists Safe and Money in Your Pocket

Knoxville just passed a new ordinance that allows for a $50 fine if you get busted passing a cyclist without having the mandated 3 feet between the car and the bike rider.  KPD is already looking at new radar technology to help them enforce this law.  Bike lanes aren't particularly prevalent around Knoxville, but biking is on the rise, so this ordinance seems to make sense.  Just remember, next time you are in a rush to pass a cyclist give them 3 feet or you're liable to lose both time and money.  If you do find yourself on the receiving end of a ticket, give us a call to see if we can help!
